     CAMPER tiene otra tienda en La Gran Manzana, esta vez en la 5a Avenida, ni más ni menos, y con ésta ya van cuatro.

Un genial diseño de estudio japonés Nendo, que ha conseguido llamar la atención de cualquiera que pasea por la famosa avenida con una distribución muy sencilla y funcional. Expositores bajos en forma de prisma rectangular y en blanco. En las paredes, el típico zapato CAMPER en blanco llenando cada rincón de la tienda, incluso camuflando las puertas. Éstas "esculturas" blancas se mezclan con zapatos reales de cada colección en determinados puntos. La disposición y la luz cenital, crean un juego de sombras en forma de rombos.

Un espacio limpio, blanco y muy atractivo, "muy CMAPER" y muy apropiado para la gran competencia de la zona.

Si sigue con estos diseños, CAMPER se va a comer La Gran Manzana!!!

    CAMPER has another location in the Big Apple, this time on 5th Avenue, and with this store they have four in the city.
The great Japanese desigñ studio Nendo, has drawn the attention of anyone who walks through the famous avenue. It has a very simple distribution and it works. The displays are short, with a  rectangular prism shape in white. On the walls, the famous white CAMPER shoe filling every corner of the store, they are even on the doors camouflaging them. These white "sculptures" are mixed with real shoes of each collection at certain points. The distribution and the ceiling light create diamonds  shadows.
A clean, white and attractive space, 'so CAMPER' and very appropriate for the intense competition in the area.
If they continue with these desigñs, CAMPER will eat the Big Apple!

Glacier Surefoot in New York

    Surefoot es una marca de botas de esquí con tiendas por todo el mundo. Pero no son botas cualquiera, son botas personalizas, hechas a medida con las tecnologías más avanzadas para darle a los esquiadores todo eso de los que nos quejamos los que alquilamos las botas. 

La tienda que tienen en Nueva York tampoco tiene un diseño cualquiera... Todo en blanco y negro. Las paredes son negras con dibujos de montañas en negativo y los expositores para las botas, en blanco, con ángulos muy agudos como si fueran trozos de un hielo gigante, subiendo hasta el techo "atravesándolo". Éstas formas proyectan sombras y reflejos en el suelo de resina epoxi haciendo el espacio aun más glaciar. Todo obra del genial estudio The LADG.

Un diseño genial para unas botas de esquí únicas.

    Surefoot is a ski boots brand with stores all over the world. But they are not regular boots, they are  custom tailored boots with the most advanced technologies to give skiers everything else we don't have when we rent the ski boots.

The flagship store in New York has an awesome desigñ... All in black and white. The walls are black with graphics of mountains in negative and the displays for the boots are white with very sharp angles like a huge piece of ice going up through the ceiling. These shapes project shadows and reflections on the epoxy resin floor making the space more glacier looking. Everything is made by the great The LADG studio.

Sunday at Nolitan Hotel

    Los domingos están llenos de detalles agradables, por lo menos los de esta chica con suerte. Largos desayunos con mis amigas, paseos por algún barrio, fotos para el blog, risas... Sobre todo muchas risas. Me gusta acabar bien la semana.

Entre todas estas cosas descubrí Nolitan. Un hotel lleno de encanto en cada rincón. El primer "hotel-boutique" del bajo Manhattan. Materiales -maderas, pieles, cemento...- que crean una atmósfera acogedora para hacerte sentir como en casa. Una fachada desordenada y muy atractiva. Más de 50 habitaciones de ensueño para descansar en la ciudad que nunca duerme. Y los responsables de tal genialidad son el estudio de arquitectura Grzywinski+Pons. 

Así son mis domingos... Descubro lugares como este y algún sabor nuevo, esta vez en China Town.

    Sundays are full of nice details, at least for this lucky girl. Long breakfasts with friends, walking around some neighborhood, pictures for the blog, laughter... Above all laughter. I like to finish the week great.

Among all these things I discovered Nolitan. A charming hotel in every single corner. The first boutique hotel in the lower east, Manhattan. The materials -wood, leather, concret... - create a cozy atmosphere to make you feel like home. A messy and very attractive facade. Over 50 awesome rooms to rest in the city that never sleeps. The desigñers for such genius space are the architects Grzywinski+Pons.

These are my Sundays... I find places like this one and I try some new flavors, this time in China Town.

Los Techos de Omonia ~video~

   En IADE, la escuela de diseño en la que estudié en Madrid, nos fomentaban mucho la creatividad en los techos, son siempre la parte más olvidada de un mal trabajo. Un buen diseñador, director de arte, escenógrafo... siempre tendrá un gran idea para los techos. Como hizo el estudio bluarch para el "retail" Omonia en el barrio de Astoría, el más moderno de Queens.

Una pastelería atrevida y diferente con un techo que atrapa. Volumenes, como gotas gigantes que caen rodeados de esferas de madera suspendidas en el aire, con unas bombillas "vintage" iluminan el  espacio con una sensación muy cálida gracias a los diminutos azulejos que recubren paredes y techos.

Una parte trasera con césped en las paredes y gradas de madera para poder disfrutar de los famosos pasteles de Omonia.

Una pastelería con auténticas delicias de chocolate y diseño.

    At IADE, the desigñ school I studied in Madrid, they taught us the importance of the creativity on ceilings, it is always the most neglected part of a bad interior. A good architect, interior desigñer, art director, set designer... always has a great idea for ceilings. Just as bluarch studio for the retail Omonia in Astoria, the coolest neighborhood in Queens.

A daring and different bakery with an awesome ceiling. Volumes like huge drops falling surrounded by wooden spheres up in the air, with some "vintage" bulbs illuminating the space with a very warm feeling, thanks to the tiny little tiles covering walls and ceilings.

A backyard with gran in the walls and wooden terraces to enjoy the famous Omonia's cakes.

Plastic Dreams, Melissa ~video~

    Siempre digo que soy una chica con suerte, mucha suerte. Este año cumplí uno de mis sueños, diseñar una tienda de zapatos en Nueva York. Y como espero que eso ocurra muchas más veces me encanta ir a sitios como este a inspirarme y deleitarme. 

Melissa es una marca brasileña de zapatos, realizados en plástico, preciosos y cómodisimos!! Grandes diseñadores han creado maravillas para Melissa; Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, el diseñador Karim Rashid o incluso la arquitecto Zaha Hadid. Y con ese cartel el diseño de la tienda no podía quedarse en poca cosa. 

En el corazón del Soho, un enorme espacio de dos plantas comunicadas por una increíble escalera, con un diseño blanco futurista, de los que tanto nos gustan en DDñ. Paredes, suelos y techos recubiertos de grandes piezas que crean una gran malla unificándolo todo. Todas las formas son redondeadas, tan orgánicas, tan perfectas... Y cada zapato tiene su propio lugar, pedestales que parecen nacer desde el suelo, o repartidos por las paredes, como las obras de arte. Un auténtico museo de zapatos.

    I always say that I'm a lucky girl, very lucky. This year I fulfilled one of my dreams, to desigñ a shoes store in New York. I hope that happens many more times so I love going to this kind of places to inspire and delight myself.

Melissa is a Brazilian shoe brand, made ​​of plastic, beautiful and comfy! Great desigñers like Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, the desigñer Karim Rashid, or even the architect Zaha Hadid, have created shoes for Melissa. And with that poster, the store desigñ couldn't be less spectacular.

In the center of Soho, a huge space with two floors connected by an amazing stairs, with a futuristic white desigñ, those that we love on DDñ. Walls, floors and ceilings are covered with large pieces that create mesh joining the whole space. All forms are rounded, so organic, so perfect... And each shoe has its own place, the displays, like pedestals, seem to come from the ground or across the walls as art works. A real shoe museum.

The Sweetest Desigñ, Xocolatti ~video~

    La marca de chocolates más lujosa de Nueva York tiene su lugar en el transitado Soho. Xocolatti tiene un espacio pequeño o más bien un pequeño almacén porque no hay parte trasera y todas las cajas de bombones están expuestas en unas estanterías de bronce. Los materiales y colores hacen la tienda acogedora y con textura. Además la colocación de las cajas crea un diseño de volúmenes ordenados pero cambiantes, ya que esas cajas son las que se llevan los clientes llenas de bombones.

Una ingeniosa idea de de-spec que ha sabido sacarle tanto "jugo" a un espacio reducido pero lleno de creatividad y detalle. Unas repisas de madera para los 16 sabores de bombones y otros chocolates que diseña Xocolatti, porque esos sabores son puro diseño. 

Dicen que el chocolate es una de las cosas mas deseadas del mundo y si se presentan así se hacen irresistibles.

    The most luxurious chocolate brand in New York has its place in the busy Soho. Flavaboom!!! ~video~

    Flavaboom tiene un diseño muy creativo y con mucha imaginación, muy apropiado para una heladería donde tú creas tu propio yogurt helado. Un espacio muy futurista, de esos que tanto salen en Decide Desigñ, y a pesar de ser el blanco el tono predominante, está lleno de color. Formas orgánicas y  asimétricas por todas partes con asientos muy cómodos y peculiares.

Al fondo se encuentran los dispensadores de yogurt rodeados de una iluminación "inteligente" con cientos de bombillas que cambian de colores y formas.

El fucsia es un color perfecto para llamar la atención y así han resaltado el estudio Dune, creadores de Flavaboom, unos asientos integrados en la pared. Además, su tamaño y el espejo del mismo color en el respaldo los hace más protagonistas y en el icono del local. 

La tienda Flavaboom en Nueva York, es como estar dentro de un enorme yogurt helado de vainilla con "sprinkles" de colores. Si la tienda "sabe" así de bien, imaginad como están los helados...

    Flavaboom has a very creative and very inventive desigñ, very 'ad hoc' for an frozen yogurt store where you create your own frozen yogurt. It is a very futuristic space, those places that we like so much on Decide Desigñ, and even if  white is the dominant tone, it is full of color. Organic and asymmetrical shapes everywhere with comfortable seats and quirky.

At the end of the space there is the yogurt dispensers area surrounded with 'smart' lighting with hundreds of bulbs that change of colors and shapes.

The studio of desigñ Dune is Flavaboom creators. They used fuchsia to get the attention of the integrated seats on the wall. Moreover, the size and the mirror  on the back with the same color makes them the local icon.

The New York Flavaboom is like being inside a huge vanilla frozen yogurt with sprinkles. And if the store "tastes" like this good, imagine how the frozen yogurts are...

    El miércoles hablamos sobre la cafetería con más diseño de Bushwick, AP. Pero con unas fotos no es suficiente. Hay que disfrutar del entorno, del café, de los donuts, del ruido del agua, del tacto de los materiales, de la gente, de la calle... Por eso hemos hecho esto para apreciar AP.

Esta entrada es la primera de espero muchas más. Es el primer video que hacemos en Decide Desigñ para mostrar mejor los sitios que visito, las experiencias que vivo y la gente que conozco.

   On Wednesday I posted about AP, the Cafe with more desigñ in Bushwick. But with some pictures is not enough. You have to enjoy the surroundings, the coffee, the donuts, the noise of the water, the feeling of the materials, the people, the streets... That's why we made ​​this to appreciate AP.

    Pasear por mi barrio es como un gran museo de arte callejero. Merece la pena recorrer cada calle en busca de nuevos graffitis que llenan de colores, ideas y formas cada pared. 

Así descubrí lo que hoy os presentamos, la cafetería AP. Un espacio amplio, abierto y de lineas muy puras creado por uno de sus dueños, Hugo McCloud que como él mismo define en su web "se centra en la claridad, la sencillez y la artesanía con un estilo esencialmente moderno que destaca la belleza de los elementos naturales. Madera, agua, metal y cemento son las características de nuestras creaciones". No se podía haber definido mejor, como el diseño y el resultado. Una clara dedicación en el detalle y en los perfectos acabados. Además, espacio no les falta y está claro que no quieren abarrotarla, cosa que me fascina porque te permite disfrutar de sus diseños y materiales mucho más.

Un lugar único en el barrio y en el mundo ya que Hugo McCloud crea todo con sus propias manos haciendo de cada mueble una pieza única tratada con mucho mimo.

AP es un "must" para los amantes del café y el diseño. Qué maravillosa combinación.
