LC2

Looking around my first post in the blog, I saw again “Tulip Chair”. One of my design treasures that inspired me to start this “desigñ” adventure. And I remembered that I have another treasure that deserves special attention.
When I started my blog, I was moving to another place, (people moves thousands of times in this city, I moved 5 times in 2 years!). And when I got to my new home, the tenant who lived there before I did, left this LC2 coach from Le Corbusier. It was the only thing he couldn’t take with him, sell or give to someone else. I still don’t get why!
It is an iconic item of the industrial design from the XX and XXI centuries. The LC2 was created by the perfect French tandem: Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand who changed the concept of furniture by creating useful pieces but thinking mainly in its aesthetic.
It is a rectangular prism made by 5 pillows displayed in a tubular structure of chromed metal. A pure and super simple concept, but no one else thought of it until 1929, and now it is copied, imitated and reinvented everywhere!
It’s a unique piece, and after almost a hundred years, when people come into my place they say: I love that modern couch!

Perfecto para un loft en Brooklyn.
Just perfect for my loft in Brooklyn.

An art work with simple and pure lines.

It can be found now in different shapes, colors and even materials!
