ADF concept store ~ Lima, Peru

Siguiendo con la entrada anterior os seguiré mostrando todo lo que me atrapó durante mi viaje. Como la tienda de ADF (A Different Fur).

ADF es una marca de ropa diferente, sencilla, cómoda y muy fácil de combinar. Preocupada por las calidades de sus materiales y diseño pero también de todo lo que nos rodea; naturaleza, sociedad... Tiene preciosas colaboraciones con proyectos muy interesantes con mujeres indígenas peruanas que crean collares espectaculares de una forma 100% "verde". Otro gran ejemplo de su conciencia social es la colaboración con "Project Pietà" que trabaja con presos de cárceles en Lima para su reintegración en la sociedad. Sin duda proyectos muy ambiciosos y con un corazón de fondo.

La tienda se encuentra en el centro de la capital limeña en un edificio emblemático de la ciudad y hace las delicias de cualquier interiorista. Techos altísimos y formas clásicas en molduras y ventanas que se mezclan a la perfección con las formas vanguardistas de los expositores. Pero la joya de la tienda es la pared de los probadores. Una genial idea de Cristian Duarte donde cientos de ángulos forrados de espejo, salen y entran para dar miles de reflejos para que no se te escape nada de tan genial lugar. Una muy atrevida forma de colocar los espejos en una tienda de ropa, pero sienta tan bien y las telas son tan ricas que te quedarás horas jugando con tus reflejos y comprando todo aquello que toques.

Continuing with the last post I will show you everything that catched my eye during our trip. Like the concept store of ADF (A Different Fur).

ADF is a different bran of clothing, simple, comfy and very easy to combine. Concerned about the quality of its desigñs and the quality of the materials. But it is also concerned about everything around us; nature, society... It has beautiful collaborations with very interesting projects with Peruvian indigenous women who create stunning necklace, 100% organic. Another great example of social consciousness is the collaboration with 'Project Pietà' that works with prison inmates in Lima for their reintegration into society. Undoubtedly ambitious projects made with a big heart.

The store is located in the center of Lima, in a very emblematic building and its desigñ is a dream for interior desigñers. High ceilings and classical shapes in moldings and windows that seamlessly bend with avant-garde forms for the displays. But the jewel in the store is the fitting rooms. A great idea by Cristian Duarte where hundreds of angles covered with mirror, move in and out to give thousand of reflections so you don't miss anything of this great place. A very bold way to use the mirrors in a clothing store. but is feels so good and the fabrics are so rich that you'll stay playing with your reflexes and buying everything you touch.

#ddñaroundtheworld ~video~

Muchos sabéis de los viajes que hemos estado haciendo los últimos meses. Todos me preguntan y quieren saber las anécdotas, restaurantes, monumentos, playas, museos... México, República Dominicana, Perú, Chile, Brasil, Italia y España fueron los destinos. Muchas ciudades, paisajes, culturas y sensaciones que han cambiado por completo mi forma de ver la vida. Por eso he querido compartir con un video resumen de esas aventuras, personas y lugares que he tenido la gran suerte de conocer. Y además quiero aprovechar para agradecer a todas las personas que han hecho de este sueño una realidad... A Maria, Chema y "las chiquillas" que hicieron de Cancún, Playa del Carmen e Isla Mujeres los lugares más divertidos del mundo. A Tere que nos cuidó y mimó sin parar. A tio Charlie y Lelel por enseñarme Tulum y lo que de verdad importa. A Marisol y Luis por tratarnos como las reinas de Dominicana, os deseo lo mejor de lo mejor en vuestras nuevas aventuras juntos!! A Lenin por las horas y horas de carcajadas en Lima, Cuzco y Urubamba y por enseñarnos Machu Picchu. A todos los chilenos, Gabriel, Silvina, Pelos, Paola, Chito, Nico, Martín, Laura, Hugo y Gonzalo por hacer que me sintiera como en casa. Gracias a Jonás que nos enseñó que se puede esquiar en los Andes y estar en la playa en el mismo día. A Koki por compartir todo con nosotras en Rio de Janeiro. A Mario y Roberto por su tiempo y su casa en Sao Paulo. A Mer que se ocupó de todo en nuestra ausencia. Pero sobre todo gracias, gracias y mil gracias a mi hermana, la mejor!

Many of you know we've been traveling for the last few months. Everyone ask me and want to know the stories, restaurants, sights, beaches, museums... Mexico, Dominican Republic, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Italy and Spain were the destinations. Many cities, landscapes, cultures and feelings have completely changed my outlook on life. So I wanted to share a short video of these adventures, people and places I've had the great fortune to meet. And I want to thank all the people who have made this dream come true... To Maria, Chema and "las chiquillas" who made Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Isla Mujeres the funniest place of the world. To Tere for taking care of us. Aēsop Pop-Up Store in Brooklyn

Ya os presenté la semana pasada una de las tiendas Aēsop en Nueva York y hoy os enseño la nueva pop-up store que la marca acaba de abrir en Brooklyn, ni más ni menos que en el centro artístico "The Invisible Dog". Y es que la creatividad y el diseño son fundamentales para Aēsop.

La arquitecto mexicana Frida Escobedo ha diseñado este espacio con una gran pieza central de cristal y una estructura de madera que contiene unas capas de arena que irán cambiado durante el tiempo que la tienda esté abierta.

Materiales naturales, un precioso lavabo central para probar los productos y el color verde corporativo de Aēsop en un espacio de aspecto industrial y rodeado de exhibiciones artísticas.

Aēsop abre sus puertas en Brooklyn no sólo para el cuidado de la piel si no para disfrutar y experimentar con los cinco sentidos.

Last week I showed you one of the Aēsop stores in New York and today I want to show you its new Pop-up Store that just opened in Brooklyn at the arts center 'The Invisible Dog'. As I explained, creativity and desigñ are really important for Aēsop.

The Mexican architect, Frida Escobedo has desigñed this great space with a huge main piece made by glass and a wood structure with different layers of sand that will be changing while the Pop-up Store stays open.

Natural materials, a gorgeous sink to try the products and the corporative Aēsop's green color in a space with an industrial look surrounded by arts exhibitions.

Aēsop opens its doors in Brooklyn not just for skin care but to enjoy and experience with your five senses.

Aēsop Desigñs

"Creemos inequivocamente que el buen diseño mejora la vida de las personas" así se define la marca de cosméticos Aēsop en su instagram, y para alguien como yo no hace falta nada más para tener toda mi atención. Pero si además lo aplican a pies juntillas no puedo evitar hacer un post por cada una de sus tiendas. Y es que cada una tiene un diseño propio pero todas con la mismo estilo que ha terminado siendo muy representativo de Aēsop.

Colores neutros y materiales naturales crean unos espacios realmente acogedores. Además en todas ellas tienen unos lavabos para probar sus productos, unas piezas increíbles y originales que como en la que os presento hoy, incluso tienen historia.

Os recomiendo que os paséis por cualquiera de sus tiendas, os sorprenderán y además os pueden hacer distintos tratamientos para encontrar el mejor cuidado para vuestra piel.

'We believe unequivocally that well-considered design improves our lives'. That is how Aēsop, this cosmetics brand defines itself on their Instagram account, and they didn't need anything else to catch the attention of someone like me. Each of their stores has its own design, but all of them follow the same style, making them all very "Aēsop-style".

Neutral colors and natural materials to create cozy spaces. Also, each store has a sink to try their products, being all of them very unique, just like the one I show you today that even has a long story.

I would recommend to stop by any of their stores, you'd be surprised and also you could try different treatments to find the best care for your skin.

At the top of the James Hotel

En la frontera de los famosos barrios neoyorquinos de Soho, China Town y Tribeca, se encuentra el Hotel James. Un edificio de 16 plantas con vistas al rio Hudson y al distrito financiero.

Cuando entras, llama la atención una gran pared forrada por miles de teclas recuperadas de antiguos ordenadores. Un mosaico muy original obra de la artista Sarah Frost.

El hotel James tiene una estilo moderno y contemporáneo, muy funcional y lujoso. Cuenta con más de 100 habitaciones, gimnasio, restaurante, un jardín urbano...

En el piso superior del hotel está lo mejor. Hay un bar cubierto para disfrutar de unas increíbles vistas de Manhattan durante el invierno y una terraza con piscina con la panorámica de los rascacielos del downtown, la Freedom Tower, el puente de Brooklyn... Uno de los lugares favoritos de todos los que vivimos en Nueva York y que sin duda estamos deseando reinaugurar con la tan deseada primavera.

The James Hotel is on the border of the famous neighborhoods of Soho, China Town and Tribeca. A 16-storey building with great views to the Hudson River and the Financial District.

When you walk in, there is a big wall made by thousands of keys recovered from old computers that catch your attention. It's a very original mosaic made by the artist Sarah Frost.

The James hotel has a modern and contemporary style and it is very functional and luxurious. It has over 100 rooms, gym, restaurant, an urban garden...

The top floor is the best part of the hotel. There is a covered bar to enjoy the incredible views of Manhattan during the winter and a rooftop with a swimming pool and panoramic views of the skyscrapers of downtown, the Freedom Tower, the Brooklyn Bridge... One of the favorites places of all newyorkers and we're definitely looking forward to the reopening when the spring comes!

The Guggenheim #NYC

En la esquina de la 89th con la Quinta Avenida, se levanta el famoso "The Solomon R Guggenheim Museum" llamado por todos los neoyorkquinos, The Guggenheim. Una obra maestra del siglo XX creada por el arquitecto estadounidense Frank Lloyd Wrigth que rompió todas las reglas de su época haciendo una arquitectura que hoy en día es muy avanzada para la mayoría.

El edificio principal es una espiral blanca gigante, se refleja en su interior con una rampa por la que se circula para visitar las obras. Wright pretendía así, marcar un recorrido muy intuitivo para el espectador. En el centro, un lucernario que deja paso a la luz natural iluminando todo el interior.

El Guggenheim recoge a todos los artistas modernos del S.XX y aunque cuando se creó causó mucho revuelo, hoy por hoy es una visita obligada y admirada de todos aquellos que visitan la Gan Manzana. Y es que no todos los museos son por ellos mismos una obra de arte.

At the corner of 89th and Fifth Avenue, the famous "Solomon R Guggenheim Museum" called by all newyorkers, stands The Guggenheim Museum. A masterpiece of the 20th century created by the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright who broke all the rules of his age with an architecture that today is still very advanced.

The main building is a giant white spiral that is translated inside into a ramp where you walk to visit the artworks. Wright wanted to create an intuitive path for the viewer. In the center, a natural skylight illuminates the whole interior.

The Guggenheim collects all modern artists of the 20th century and when it was created it caused quite a stir. Today is a must and admired place by all who visit the Big Apple. Not all museums are an artwork themselves.

Art in the lobby

Hoy la cosa va de arte. Y es que en el lobby del hotel Conrad, situado en el suroeste de Manhattan, se encuentran unas impactantes obras que no dejan indiferentes a nadie.

En el centro del espacio caen a lo largo de los doce pisos, unas esculturas gigantescas de formas orgánicas en color blanco, suspendidas por cientos de hilos por otras formas parecidas sujetas al altísimo techo. En su interior iluminación LED que le da todavía más fuerza a la apariencia futurista. La arquitecto Mónica Ponce de León es la creadora de tal genialidad.

Justo en la pard lateral, una obra del muralista Sol LeWitt. Una pieza llena de color y formas orgánicas que además han iluminado con luz de diferentes colores dándole una segunda vida.

Sin duda el hotel Conrad ha sabido muy bien como "decorar" su recepción para atraer la atención de la gente, y es que con arte no falla, y si no que se lo digan a los museos, por lo menos en Nueva York.

Today the post is about art. In the lobby of the Conrad Hotel in the southwest of Manhattan, there are striking art works that catch the attention of everyone.

In the middle of the space there are some giant sculptures with organic shapes in white falling from the twelve floors, suspended with hundreds of threads. Inside this works there is a LED lighting that gives an even more futuristic look. The architect Mónica Ponce de León is the creator of such genius sculptures.

Right on the side wall there is a work by the muralist Sol LeWitt. A piece full of color and organic shapes illuminated with different colors like giving the piece a second life.

Definitely the Conrad Hotel knows very well how to "decorate" the reception area to attract the attention of people. Art never fail, and the museums know this very well, at least in New York.

Stay in Brooklyn, Wythe Hotel

Este fin de semana estuve con mis chicas paseando por Williamsburg y fuimos a ver, como casi siempre, el impresionante Hotel Wythe.

A las orillas del East River, con las mejores vistas a la isla de Manhattan y en el barrio más de moda de Nueva York. Qué más se puede pedir en un viaje a la Gran Manzana? Pues todavía hay más...

El Wythe era una fábrica en el puerto de Williamsburg y han sabido mantener esa estética industrial-vintage, o más bien hipster que para eso ese "look" nació en el barrio. Eso sí con todos los lujos. Más de 70 habitaciones muy elegantes, con materiales cálidos com la madera, ladrillo visto, baldosas hidráulicas, papeles pintados... Un ambiente moderno pero muy acogedor. Un lugar mágico en el que encontrarse como en casa si no fuera porque desde la cama te deleitas con el Empire State Building.

At the East River, with the best views to Manhattan in the coolest neighborhood of New York. What else can you ask in your trip to the Big Apple??? Well, there is more...

The Wythe was a factory at the Williamsburg port and they kept this industrial-vintage aesthetic, or better said, hipster, the look that was born in this neighborhood. But it has all the luxury. More than 70 super elegant rooms, with warm materials like wood, brick, ceramic tiles, paper walls... A super cool environment but very welcoming. A magic place to feel like home if it wasn't because you can contemplate the Empire State Building from the bed.

RAW FOR THE OCEANS

Durante la semana de la moda de Nueva York se ve de todo, la ciudad es más loca y excéntrica, parece que sólo preocupa la imagen aunque la nieve nos llegue por las rodillas. Pero siempre hay una excepción que sobresale de las masas.

Pharrell Williams presenta RAW FOR THE OCEANS, la genial idea de G-Star Raw y Bionic Yarn de la que él es dueño. Crear moda con el principal objetivo de salvar nuestros oceanos reciclando los plásticos que los llenan. Moda de calidad, con mucha ceatividad y lo más importante, conciencia.

Una impresionante puesta en escena dentro del "acuario" del museo de Historia Natural, con una ballena azul, delfines, proyecciones azules... El mejor lugar en Manhattan para disfrutar de la belleza marina y comprender la necesidad de cuidar nuestro planeta.

Requiere mucho trabajo crear nuevas manera de hacer moda preocupándose por cosas más importantes pero también puede ser divertido... Es un ejemplo.

During #NYFW you can see all kinds of things, the city is crazier and even more eccentric than ever, it looks like the only important thing is the image even if the snow gets up to your knees. But there is always an exception over the masses.

Pharrell Williams presents RAW FOR THE OCEANS, the brilliant idea of G-Star Raw and Bionic Yarn which he owns. Creating fashion with the primary objective of saving our oceans recycling plastics. Fashion with quality, a lot of creativity and most importantly, conscience.

The set couldn't be better... In the "aquarium" of the Museum of Natural History of New York, with a blue whale, dolphins, blue projections... The best place in Manhattan to enjoy the beauty of the oceans and understand the need to care for our planet.

It requires a lot of work creating new ways o doing fashion worrying about more important things but also having fun...Here is an example.

5:31 JÉRÔME #NYFW14

Estamos en febrero y eso significa que todos los diseñadores sacan a relucir sus ideas, creatividad y trabajo, mucho trabajo. Estamos en la semana de la moda de Nueva York.

Hoy quiero compartir el gran trabajo de la nueva colección de otoño/invierno del diseñador neoyorquino Jérôme LaMaar. Colores muy otoñales con cortes muy elegantes y sexys dejando ver partes de los cuerpos femeninos. Maxi accesorios que combinan a la perfección con las formas sencillas de los vestidos, o en un espectacular abrigo.

Me encantó conocerte y muchas gracias por compartir estas maravillas con el resto de los mortales. Espero volver a verte pronto.

It is February and that means every desigñer in de city is going to show their ideas, creativity and work, a lot of work. It is #NYFW.

Today I want to share the great job in the new F/W collection by Jérôme LaMaar. Fall colors and very elegant cut suits letting see parts of the feminine body, really sexy. Maxi accessories and dresses with clean shapes in perfect combination, or in a awesome coat.

It was a pleasure to meet you and thank you so much for sharing these wonders with the rest of us. I hope to see you soon.
